Sadness & Health


According to a research report which was published in telegraph sometime back, it was mentioned that being sad is actually helpful for a person as then it helps the person to bring positive changes into his life. According to the scientists, if this is to be treated as an illness and medication is used to get out of such situation; then it badly affects the way a human is suppose to mature naturally from this spirit. Researchers have further emphasized that the current modernistic societies holds happiness very dear to them and if anyone loses his job or his dear ones or has a break-up, it completely demoralizes them. The experts are scared that by using medicines or having mental treatments for this problematic situation, the maturity and functions of the human brain gets adversely affected. These experts emphasizes that the man has been able to tolerate this situation for thousands of years perfectly but they have been able to do that because they understand that this is important for their growth as they learn valuable lessons and try to improve on from there. The stats also show that every fourth person in this world is sad and a total of 5% of current human population is currently going through this phase. Even the psychiatrist acknowledges that the people in depression thinks that by taking these medicines, they are doing well; but the reality is this that they are just making a fool out of themselves. They believe that the element of sadness is actually the moment of realizing the truth about oneself and it helps them learn from their mistakes from the past. They act as catalyst as they help us get away from normal routine and help us make think about other things in our lives. That report also indicated that  this mode of feeling also make sure that we do not repeat our mistakes and in a way forbid us to go into or go in for something that had been very dear to us- be it love of partner or things. In a way this sadness help us think very carefully and meticulously at our lives and help us judge the life better than ever before and if one does not get sad but remain engaged in depression; then the person suffering from it can get mentally disturb very easily and would dwell into past for most part of his life and this could also prove fatal if it continued on for a longer period of time. So in short, it’s good to be sad than depress as it would enable us get better in long run.
